What Is UCC (Uniform Civil Code)?

UCC is the formulation of one law for India, in matters such as marriage, divorce, inheritance, adoption.

UCC originates  from  Samāna Nāgrika Saṃhitā, is a promise of secularism in India by the Preamble.

The code comes under Article 44 of the Constitution, which aims to establish a Uniform Civil Code for all citizens across India.

In India, Goa is the only state to have established this code successfully.
